These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of RobotsGuard (the "Service") operated by RobotsGuard ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. The Service
RobotsGuard is an automated monitoring tool that periodically inspects publicly available SEO and crawler-related signals on websites you configure (such as robots.txt files, HTTP headers, meta tags, sitemaps and canonical tags) and notifies you of detected changes or issues. The Service is provided as a software-as-a-service product on a subscription basis.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to monitor websites you do not own or are not authorized to monitor.
- Attempt to overload, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Use the Service to violate any law, infringe intellectual property, or harm third parties.
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without prior written permission.
- Submit automated requests at a volume that exceeds the limits of your subscription plan.
5. Billing: Merchant of Record
All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our authorized Merchant of Record and reseller. Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for your purchase, handles payment processing, applicable sales tax / VAT, invoicing, refunds and chargebacks. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
6. Subscriptions, renewals and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account or via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal; your access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply to the next renewal.
7. Refunds
Refunds are handled by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their refund policy and applicable consumer law. Outside of mandatory legal rights (e.g., the EU 14-day right of withdrawal where applicable), payments are generally non-refundable once the service has been used.
8. Free tools and trials
Free diagnostic tools and any trial offers are provided "as is", may be subject to usage limits, and may be modified or withdrawn at any time without notice.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, design, text, graphics and trademarks, is and remains the property of RobotsGuard. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose during your subscription. You retain ownership of the data you submit; you grant us a limited license to process that data solely to provide the Service.
10. Disclaimers: IMPORTANT
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
RobotsGuard is a monitoring and alerting tool. It does not guarantee detection of every SEO issue, prevent search engine de-indexing, restore lost rankings, recover lost traffic or revenue, or replace professional SEO advice. Search engine behavior, AI crawler behavior, and third-party platforms are outside our control. You are solely responsible for the configuration of your websites and for acting on the alerts we provide.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RobotsGuard, its operators, contractors and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, traffic, search rankings, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid to Lemon Squeezy for the Service in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RobotsGuard and its operators from any claim, loss, liability, demand or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights, or (d) your monitoring of any website you are not authorized to monitor.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, pose a security risk, or for any other lawful reason. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnification) will survive termination.
14. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence to the extent mandatory consumer protection rules apply, and otherwise by laws applicable to RobotsGuard's principal place of operation. The parties agree to attempt informal resolution before initiating any formal dispute. Where permitted, disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis only and not as part of any class or representative action.
16. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them freely. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Lemon Squeezy's terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and us.
